The project required the refurbishment of the historic National Trust-Classified Quad and Lodge on Rottnest Island which were originally built by prison labour in the 1850’s on Rottnest Island. CHRISTOU worked within the limitations of the significant fabric, significant trees and servicing constraints. The buildings and natural gardens were preserved and modified to create a contemporary resort which retained the historical significance of the buildings.

CHRISTOU were again successful in competing for, and completing the refurbishment of the Rottnest Tea Rooms and Marine Jetty Facilities in 1987.
