Commercial Hotel 1985
- Refurbishment
- Fremantle, Western Australia
The Commercial Hotel project entailed refurbishment and conversion of a run-down hotel originally constructed in 1907, to create an entertainment venue incorporating food and beverage components.
Only the ground level of the three-storey building was to be converted, to maximise the bar’s street exposure. A street level terrace and secluded dining court were incorporated, and appropriate remodelling of the interior to express the building’s original character successfully integrated entertainment, food and beverage components.
A new streetscape façade to match the original façade of the building constructed in 1907 was created and the building’s Federation character was reinstated.
